Big Ocean publican segundo mini álbum
"Underwater"
Presentación del álbum
El 20 de abril de 2025, Big Ocean celebrará su primer aniversario con el
lanzamiento de su segundo miniálbum, "Underwater" (
click) . El subtítulo del
álbum, "Embracing the Black Ocean", transmite el mensaje de que todos
albergamos instintos profundos e intensos bajo la superficie. Si bien su
primer álbum, "Follow", mostró frescura y vitalidad juvenil, esta vez
buscan una transformación radical con un concepto maduro y atractivo.
El tema central del álbum es "The Tritón", un ser mítico, mitad humano y
mitad pez, que lucha por encontrar su lugar en la tierra. Aunque
agobiado por la tristeza y la añoranza del mundo exterior, un tritón que
abraza plenamente las profundidades se vuelve más fuerte y cautivador
que nunca. Con una cola radiante que se impulsa más rápido que los pies,
una melena ondulante y manos que acarician las corrientes, puede abrazar
cada ola. Para un tritón que ha comprendido su propio poder, el mar ya
no es un lugar de miedo, sino un espacio infinito lleno de
posibilidades.
Las cuatro canciones del álbum representan el viaje de Big Ocean para
reconocerse como tritones y despertar sus instintos.
●“SINKING” retrata la inmersión: el dolor de distanciarse a pesar de
intentar adaptarse a un ser querido.
●“FADE OUT” representa la comprensión: a medida que se hunden más, todo
ruido externo se desvanece, dejando solo la claridad de su propia voz.
●“Attention” es la canción principal y simboliza el instinto. Tras
aceptar su identidad como tritones, recuperan la confianza, seduciendo
al oyente a sumergirse en el agua y entregarse al torbellino emocional.
●“End of Time” narra la historia de un reencuentro. Bajo la luz de la
luna, bailan y prometen eternidad.
Escuchar el álbum en orden es como presenciar un melodrama desgarrador,
y pronto te encuentras animando la transformación de los tritones
mientras renacen de la oscuridad. Que cada uno encuentre su propio
Océano Negro bajo el agua.

Big Ocean es una banda de ídolos de KPOP formada por tres artistas con
discapacidad auditiva. Sus miembros, PJ, Jiseok y Chanyeon, viven con
diversos grados de sordera, pero aun así decidieron seguir su pasión por
la música. Big Ocean debutó en abril de 2024 y ha actuado en los tres
programas de música KPOP más populares, incluyendo SBS Inkigayo, MBC
Music Core y KBS Music Bank.

Album Introduction
On April 20, 2025, Big Ocean will celebrate its first debut anniversary
with the release of its second mini-album, “Underwater ” (

The album’s
subtitle, “Embracing the Black Ocean,” conveys the message that everyone
harbors deep and intense instincts beneath the surface. While their
first album, “Follow,” showcased youthful freshness and vibrance, this
time, they seek a dramatic transformation with a mature and alluring
concept.
The central motif of the album is “The Merman”—a mythical being,
half-human and half-fish, who struggles to find a place on land. Though
burdened by sorrow and longing for the world above, a merman who fully
embraces the depths becomes stronger and more captivating than ever.
With a radiant tail that propels faster than feet and flowing hair and
hands that caress the currents, he can embrace every wave. For a merman
who has realized his own power, the sea is no longer a place of fear but
an infinite space filled with possibilities.
The four tracks in the album depict Big Ocean’s journey of recognizing
themselves as mermen and awakening their instincts.
●“SINKING” portrays submersion—the pain of drifting apart despite trying
to conform to a loved one.
●“FADE OUT” represents realization—as they sink deeper, all external
noise fades away, leaving only the clarity of their own voice.
●“Attention” is the title track and symbolizes instinct. Having embraced
their identity as mermen, they regain confidence, seducing the listener
to dive into the water and surrender to the emotional whirlpool.
●“End of Time” tells the story of a reunion. Under the moonlight, they
dance and promise eternity.
Listening to the album in order feels like watching a heartbreaking
melodrama — and soon, you find yourself rooting for the mermen’s
transformation as they are reborn from the darkness.

Big Ocean is a KPOP idol band made up of three artists with hearing
disability. Members, PJ, Jiseok, and Chanyeon live with varying degrees
of deafness but decided to pursue their love for music anyway. Big Ocean
made their debut in April 2024 and has performed at all three top
ranking KPOP music shows including SBS Inkigayo, MBC Music Core and KBS
Music Bank.
In the media, Big Ocean has been recognized by BBC and ABC, on top of
making national news for their novel disability representation in the
KPOP industry. Billboard also nominated Big Ocean as “the Rookie of this
month (September).”
The members have developed a tight-knit fanbase especially in the US and
Europe. More than 1.6 Million users have now followed Big Ocean across
Instagram, Tiktok and Youtube just in a year of their debut.
Through immense training and practice, the members learned to sing and
dance to vibrations of the beat through wristwatches they wear and
flashlight screens that work as metronomes. They applied AI voice
conversion tools to sing their own records, in spite of shortcomings in
pitch. By championing their limitations with technology, Big Ocean have
also become music industry pioneers in the modern world.
Big Ocean’s performance has uniqueness in that they sing in sign
language. They use Korean Sign Language (KSL), as well as American Sign
Language (ASL) and International Sign (IS) to embrace diversity and
inclusiveness.
Their debut song is a remake of “Glow” by H.O.T-Korea’s hottest boy band
in 2000, and the second release was original single “BLOW”. Their
single, “SLOW” which ranked top 4 at Itunes Brazil music chart was made
to support the 2024 Paris Paralympics with the lyrics emphasizing to
“take it slow.” Their first mini album “Follow” was released last
November with the title song “FLOW” which was produced by three times
Grammy Awards winning producer, “Mark Batson.”

Big Ocean(빅오션)이 2025년 4월 20일, 데뷔 1주년을 맞아 두 번째 미니 앨범 ‘Underwater(언더워터)’를
발매한다. ‘UNDERWATER’ (
click) 의 부제는 ‘Embracing the Black Ocean’으로 누구에게나 수면 아래에 깊고 짙은
본능이 있다는 메시지를 담고 있다. 1집 ‘Follow’에서 풋풋함과 청량함을 보여주었다면, 이번엔 성숙하고 유혹적인 콘셉트로
반전을 꾀한다.
앨범의 메인 모티브는 ‘인어’이다. 반인반어(Half-Human, Half-Fish)로서 육지 어디에도 발 딛기 어려워하는 신화적
생명체이다. 육지에 대한 동경을 버리지 못해 슬픔에 잠기기도 하지만, 수면 아래로 내려간 인어는 누구보다도 강인하고 매력적이다.
인어의 빛나는 꼬리는 두 발 보다 빠르게 추진을 얻으며, 머리카락과 구불거리는 손으로는 물결을 매만지고 모든 파도를 껴안을 수
있다. 자신의 능력을 자각한 인어에게 바다는 더 이상 두려움의 공간이 아니다. 빛날 수 있는 무한한 가능성의 공간이 된다.
트랙 네 곡은 빅오션이 인어임을 인지하고 본능을 깨우는 여정을 그린다.
●‘SINKING’에서는 ‘침잠’을 그린다. 사랑하는 사람에게 맞추기 위해 애쓰지만 결국 멀어져 가는 슬픔을 노래한다.
●‘FADE OUT’은 ‘깨달음’의 곡이다. 물속에 잠기면서 모든 소리가 먹먹해지지만, 대신 텅 빈 고요 속에서 자신의 목소리만은
선명해짐을 느낀다.
●‘Attention’은 앨범의 타이틀곡으로 ‘본능’을 상징한다. ‘인어’임을 자각한 뒤 자신감을 되찾은 단계이다. 마음이 이끄는
대로 자신이 있는 물속으로 들어와 감정의 소용돌이에 휩쓸려보자고 유혹한다.
●‘End of Time’은 ‘인연’을 되찾는 내용으로 이뤄진다. 달빛 아래에서 춤추며 영원을 약속한다.
순서대로 듣다 보면, 멜로 드라마를 보는 듯 가슴이 찡하다가 흑화 된 인어에 박수를 치게 된다.
